Our Founder

Mike grew up in Hanover, Massachusetts. He graduated from South Shore Vocational Technical High School, where he focused on Auto Body Technologies. Right after high school in 1986, he jumped into the automotive industry. Over the next 35+ years, Mike developed a deep understanding of the field. Throughout his career, he embraced learning opportunities to prepare for future roles.

The 1990's

In the 1990s, Mike was eager to grow. He worked on anything he could. During this time, he held roles in collision shops, a rental car company, and as a licensed appraiser. He wrote appraisals for major insurance companies across Massachusetts.

Mike’s responsibilities included estimation, fabrication, restoration, welding, and heavy-duty frame repair. He also handled quality control, vendor relations, part shipments, and repair negotiations. In addition, he worked on electrical systems and mechanical repairs. Notably, Mike serviced not just regular vehicles but also buses, big rigs, and campers.

The 2000's

The 2000s marked a turning point. Mike became General Manager of Acme Body & Paint Co. There, he worked closely with owner Chuck Sulkala, who mentored him. Mike took charge of purchasing, shop operations, equipment maintenance, and budgeting.

The shop was part of Sherwin-Williams’ A+ 20 Group. This elite network included the top-performing collision centers in the country. As a result, Mike traveled across the U.S. to collaborate with other shop leaders and share best practices.

The 2010's

Later, Mike transitioned into sales. He joined Sherwin-Williams Automotive and managed accounts in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. He not only sold products but also trained clients on how to use them effectively.

Sherwin-Williams recognized Mike’s leadership. He was selected to help build their “VR Sales Rep Orientation and On-Boarding Guide,” a national training program.

After nearly a decade, Mike returned to the South Shore. He joined a group of MSO Collision Centers—some of the most highly certified in New England. These centers held 15 OEM certifications and I-Car Platinum status. In his managerial role, Mike oversaw blueprinting, operations, compliance, and facility upgrades.

The 2020's and beyond

With the new decade, Mike started a new chapter. He combined his deep industry knowledge with a passion for entrepreneurship. His goal was clear: build a business that supports both his future and the success of others.

The automotive industry is changing fast. As new technology emerges, fresh challenges will follow. Fortunately, Mike is ready to face them—head on. Welcome to Crown Collision Solutions.
